Some things to think about. These are what the platforms say.

• Do you still have the email address or phone number on the account? If you do, getting back in is usually much easier.
• Instagram: after deletion you can sign up again with the same username, if it has not been taken. (Source: Instagram Help Centre. Checked 25 October 2026.)

• Gmail: you cannot register a username that someone used before and deleted. (Source: Google Help. Checked 25 October 2026.)
• TikTok: 30 days after deletion, you can connect that email to a new account. (Source: TikTok Help Centre. Checked 25 October 2026.)
• Facebook, Snapchat, Microsoft and LinkedIn do not say, in the pages we checked, whether a deleted username is released.
